Earth Battlefield: Aliens vs Demons
We have blurry pictures. We have marks on the ground. We have fantastic eyewitness accounts of strange assaults on human beings in isolated places.
What we don't have is much in the way of technological evidence, if we're dealing with space travellers. Nothing like the crashed remains of a Cessna. UFOlogists say the Government is keeping these hidden. Given the constant spying scandals that bedevil Western governments, it seems unlikely they could keep a lid on such a sensation for very long.
An interesting alternative explanation is that UFOs are the modern equivalent of fairies, demons, and ghouls. They attack and sport with mortals who stray into their domain. Thus, they leave little in the way of physical evidence; marks on the witnesses bodies and a few scorch marks on the ground!
The overall effect of the UFO phenomenon is discord, upset, dissimulation and dissatisfaction. Nothing good or useful has come of it [Read more]
Digging Your Grave: Four Dinner Mistakes
You’re finally home from work and the urge to get right into dinner and move on to the rest of the things you have to do, so speeding through dinner becomes a bad habit, and you need to break it.
When you eat dinner in front of the TV, you can easily get caught up in mindless eating. Instead of stopping when you have satisfied your hunger, you are more likely to continue putting fork to mouth until a commercial break or the end of a show, because you are not really paying attention to what you are eating, you are paying attention to the screen.
It may seem time consuming to portion out your meal sizes to the ounce, but if you can at least follow some loose guidelines for food portioning, you will sidestep this mishap. Spooning food on to your plate without a real measurement can add up to very large quantities of food [Read more]
Aging Process - Environmental Factors That Damage Your Skin
The sun can be warm, fun and make someone feel happy. Your skin even likes to feel its warmth. In fact, a moderate amount of daily sun exposure is very healthy. However, you must be extremely careful to limit that exposure because the sun is also the number one reason why people age faster than they should.
The sun's rays come down in three ultraviolet rays: UVC, UVB and UVA. The UVC is so far contained in the Earth's atmosphere that it doesn't reach the skin. The other two, however, are a different story. These UV rays dry out and burn the skin, causing the cells to wrinkle. They also break down the collagen in your skin and allows free radical cells to form which cause wrinkles and can even lead to various forms of cancer [Read more]
Listening – The Art of Business Negotiations
A good negotiator will first listen to the other party, and hear their viewpoint. If you are looking for certain price for a job, for example, don't make your demands immediately, but wait until the customer gives an indication of what they expect to pay.
Another quality of a good negotiator is to be able to listen: and not only to listen, but let the other person know that they are listening. Any course of communication will stress the importance of response; even a simple nod of the head is better than no response at all when somebody is trying to communicate with you.
It is important to understand that negotiation is not argument. Instead it is to understand the viewpoint of the other party, before you strike a favorable bargain. If you fail to see things their way, then you will have difficulty in negotiating an outcome acceptable to both of you. Negotiation is not the same as arbitration, where the arbitrator takes a neutral viewpoint [Read more]
